What it’s like to be a Diesel Technician at Hallam Truck Centre
At Hallam & Bayswater Truck Centres, we strive to be the employer of choice through a workplace culture that fosters growth, safety and inclusivity, which leads to a workforce of highly skilled individuals.
We spoke to two of our talented Diesel Technicians, Grant Brown and Nathan Appel, about their thoughts on Hallam & Bayswater Truck Centres and what it’s like to work for one of Australia’s most advanced dealerships.
Watch the video below to find out more about why they choose to work at Hallam & Bayswater Truck Centres.
When speaking to Grant, one of his favourite things about being a Diesel Technician at Bayswater Truck Centre is the job variety.
“Everyday is never the same, you never know what you’re going to turn up to when you rock up. You could spend a day doing servicing, or you could spend the day pulling an engine out and rebuilding them. I think the diversity is fantastic,” explains Grant.
For Nathan, the flexibility is what he values most as a Diesel Technician at Hallam Truck Centre.
“There’s some people with families or those who have got commitments, and this company’s really accommodating for that so if you need to change your hours, start a little bit later or finish a little bit later or earlier, they can accommodate for that,” says Nathan.
We place huge importance on safety within our workplace, which is why Hallam & Bayswater Truck Centres boast the latest in technology and quality equipment. This ensures that our team are able to get the job done in the best and safest way possible.
This has not gone unnoticed within our service department team. “Safety is paramount, and it means that the guy next to you is watching your back and you have his. You both go home at the end of the day. Having all the right tools and equipment in the workshop to do the job means that you do get it done safely and efficiently,” says Grant.
“It’s a great workshop, great facility, a variety of tools and specified equipment, and it’s clean,” adds Nathan.
It’s because of benefits like these that Grant and Nathan have chosen to work at Hallam & Bayswater Truck Centre, and why they continue to work here.
“It’s a great company to work for. We have apprentices that start quite young and they work up to myself – I’ve been here for 12 years and you develop skills that otherwise wouldn’t, or couldn’t, develop at a small workshop or dealership,” says Nathan.
“It’s a fantastic place to work and I wouldn’t still be here if I didn’t enjoy it” adds Grant.
Working at our state-of-the-art, award winning facility means that our technicians can be confident they are building nationally recognized skills and enjoying the best workplace benefits.
