A special Legend delivery for Land Transport
Our team have been extremely privileged to be involved in some incredible truck builds over the years and a recent delivery to Land Transport was one that we will definitely remember for a long time.
On 24 March 2013, the Land family welcomed their beautiful daughter, Emerikus Jocey Raewyn Land into this world. Sadly, she was born sleeping.
This was a devastating loss for the whole family and in 2021, the Land Family and Land Transport decided to build a 50th Anniversary Kenworth Legend SAR in her memory, which would arrive on what would have been her 10th birthday.
The whole Hallam Truck Centre team were committed to ensuring this Legend SAR would honour the memory of such a beautiful baby girl.
Outside, the stunning signwriting and designs to remember Emerikus were completed through Grant Fowler Signs. The final touches were only recently completed with special airbrush artwork by Tony on the back of the Legend’s cab.
Inside, it includes all the comforts of home including a 50L upright fridge, Smart TV and microwave, all fitted by our very own installer, Peter.
This beauty also features an Ice Pack bunk cooler, stainless by RC Metalcraft and bullbar by Kentweld Bullbars.
The Legend SAR is powered by the X15 Cummins engine with an Eaton Gearbox and features a range of accents and touches to commemorate the history of this impressive SAR.
Land Transport’s Legend SAR was two years in the making, followed by a B-Triple set up from Vawdrey Semi Trailers and Truck Bodies in Dandenong. Their team also worked with Grant Fowler Signs to ensure that the beautiful cab designs flowed into the trailer set up.
Released in conjunction with Kenworth celebrating 50 years of manufacturing trucks in Australia, the 50th Anniversary Edition Legend SAR is modelled on the iconic W900SAR that was built and sold in Australia from 1975 until 1987.
The W900SAR (SAR standing for ‘Short-bonnet Australian Right-hand drive), was the first Kenworth model designed, engineered and built in Australia specifically for Australian operating requirements.
Having been born into a trucking family, what better way to honour Emerikus Jocey than with this beautifully decorated flagship.
Thank you to Ben and Sherri-Leigh Land and Barry and Raewyn Land for having us involved in this very special and meaningful build.
