Evans Petroleum Rolls Ahead with a New Kenworth T420SAR
Evans Petroleum continues to power forward with the addition of a brand-new Kenworth T420SAR, proudly delivered by Danny and the team at Hallam Truck Centre.
This delivery marks Evans Petroleum’s 17th Kenworth, further strengthening their long-standing relationship with the brand and our team as they continue fuel operations across Gippsland and beyond.
The new-generation 2.1m-wide integrated sleeper cab combines timeless Kenworth styling with a traditional hood design. With its set-forward front axle, the Kenworth T420SAR delivers optimal weight distribution, making it a versatile performer across a wide range of heavy-duty applications.
Under the hood, the PACCAR MX-510 Euro 6 engine produces 510hp, paired with the PACCAR TX-18 PXD Endurant transmission, delivering 1,850lb/ft of torque. This pairing ensures smooth, consistent power delivery, refined shifting, and outstanding driveability for maximum on road efficiency all while meeting the latest Australian Design Rules (ADR) 80/04 standards.
“We selected this Kenworth model because we like the brand and it aligns with our fleet,” says Stuart
“We run other models of Kenworth trucks in our fleet and are excited to give the new model a go.”
Inside, the Kenworth T420SAR offers an impressive range of driver-focused upgrades, including a 15-inch high-definition digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch audio-visual navigation system with smartphone integration, and wireless phone charging. The Smart Wheel provides fingertip control of a wider range of settings, while redesigned climate dials enhance driver usability and comfort.
Safety has also stepped up a gear with advanced radar and camera systems and the latest suite of Fusion active safety technologies. These systems respond faster and less intrusively to potential hazards, creating a more intuitive connection between the driver and road.
Drivers can also receive real-time alerts via the dashboard, with detailed insights available through PACCAR Connect.
Access to the cab is made easier with new full-length grab handles and puddle lights for added convenience.
Completing the build, this T420SAR features a JOST turntable, Groeneveld greasing system, stainless steel radar trims by Long Haul Restorations and Custom Stainless and was finished with a professional detail by Ando’s Detailing Services.
Engineered for a 75-tonne gross capacity, this truck is already hard at work hauling fuel in a 19-metre Holmwood Highgate tanker from Melbourne fuel terminals to locations across Victoria.
“The drivers have certainly been happy with it,” says Stuart.
“The truck looks good and feels good to them, particularly the transmission and how smooth it is. No one’s complaining at all.”
Congratulations again to Stuart, Warren and the team at Evans Petroleum, and thank you for your continued trust in Hallam Truck Centre and Kenworth Australia. We look forward to working with you well in the future.
