ERH Refrigerated Transport welcomes the Midnight Express K200
The Hallam Truck Centre team has been proud to work with Rupert Smith and the ERH Refrigerated Transport team for 18 years.
During that time, Rupert has purchased over 100 ripping Kenworth rigs and currently the ERH team has 55 Kenworths in their fleet, including T610 day cabs, T610 sleeper cabs and K200s - with more on the way!
Recently Bob, Kenworth Sales Consultant, and our team were pumped to have the opportunity to hand over a Kenworth K200 and what a beauty of a truck it is!
When it comes to the reason why Rupert chooses Kenworth Trucks, it’s because he knows the product well - Rupert has a background in selling Kenworths in New Zealand so he understands the quality of a Kenworth Truck.
In appreciation of two of his drivers for their loyalty and great work ethic, Rupert encouraged them to create the “Midnight Express” K200, allowing them to name the truck and add some extras above the usual build.
This Kenworth K200 boasts the Cummins X15 Power Plant engine, hooked up to an Eaton Ultrashift transmission.
Add a tasteful amount of stainless steel from the team at RC Metalcraft and some scroll work done by Trevor Barnes, and this package is complete and is sure to stand out on the road.
Congratulations and thank you to Rupert and the team at ERH for your continued support of Hallam Truck Centre and KENWORTH Australia. We look forward to working with you well into the future.
Kenworth K200 – an Australian icon
The K200, recently replaced by the evolved and refined K220, is suited to most applications and was available in 6×4, 8×4, 8×6 and 10×6 configurations, making it ideal for B-Double and B-Triple applications. The K200 provides operators with exceptional productivity through Application Engineering, power and versatility. Simply put, in the K200 you can haul bigger loads with greater ease and efficiency.
For the driver, the K200 defines interior space and comfort, delivering easy sleeper access and room to move with a near flat floor. Another feature, the optional Active Cab Entry system, provides peace of mind for applications requiring frequent cab entry and exit.
Stepping into the cab, the Daylite door design promotes safety and confidence with an excellent field of vision from the driver’s seat of both sides of the vehicle and the rear view mirrors.
For Kenworth, protecting the driver, vehicle, payload, and other road users against unexpected hazards has always been a paramount consideration. Safety is built into every truck through Application Engineering, a design approach that also delivers optimal payloads, reliability and productivity.
Aside from providing the optimal drivers’ environment to aid with vehicle control, Kenworth interiors combine classic Kenworth styling with the highest standards of cab ergonomics and safety, further minimising driver distraction. The wrap-around dash provides an unobstructed view of gauges and easy access to vital switches and controls. Smart Wheel fingertip access for engine brake and cruise functions deliver further driver confidence, comfort and control.
Kenworth Electronic Brake Safety Systems (EBSS) further enhance vehicle control and accident avoidance, with a comprehensive list of options available. These include Bendix Electronic Stability Control, Wingman Fusion™ technology incorporating Active Cruise Control with Braking, Collision Mitigation with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Departure Warning.
Kenworth’s commitment to ongoing research, design and engineering capability demonstrates their flexibility in adapting new technologies as they come to the fore.
